The Journey
It may be that when we no longer know what to do
we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go
we have come to our real journey. - Wendell Berry
tell me more about the journey
Are you tired of working with your mental health symptoms in the same old way? Of being labeled with diagnoses and told to just take some pills? Are you looking for something more than just symptom relief?
I invite you to take a different type of journey with me. A journey of becoming who you truly are. Your path will be unique to you, but I will guide you along the way with all of the personal experiences and powerful tools I have gathered in my medicine bag. Our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies are highly intelligent energetic systems that provide us with a wealth of knowledge to lead us to our own healing. You will learn how to access the wisdom of your own inner healer in your body. With my guidance, we will explore with loving kindness and curiosity questions such as, What are my symptoms trying to tell me? What are the barriers that are holding me back from knowing and honoring my true self? What emotions and traumas have I been suppressing that need to be fully felt to be released? Am I living in alignment with my true nature and highest purpose?
I will help you cultivate your own connection to your sacred nature so that you can rewrite the story you have been telling yourself about who you are and what your life is about.
am i ready for the journey?
The journey home to yourself takes an open mind, an open heart, courage, discipline, commitment, and the ability to surrender to and accept your current experiences as a starting point for self-growth. It is not an easy path, yet the reward is a life of greater authenticity, joy, peace, vitality, and purpose. Ask yourself if these characteristics describe you?
My mental health symptoms have gotten in the way of me living my best life.
I am open to learning how to access my own inner resources and intuitive forms of guidance.
I am tired of trying to “fix myself.” I honor that my healing is a sacred process of unconditional love and acceptance.
I have always searched for a larger meaning to my life, or had a sense that I am here for a purpose, even if I haven’t figured out what that is yet.
I am drawn to using my creativity and imagination to explore who I am and the journey itself, knowing that this process will likely open up more questions and possibilities.
I am someone willing to make changes to my lifestyle, sometimes small ones, and sometimes radical ones, in order to manifest the life I want.
I understand that living life in a new way requires an inordinate amount of courage. This journey will not be easy, but I don’t want to continue the path I am currently on.
I am looking for a psychiatrist who can provide me with answers about diagnoses and prescribe medications if needed, but who will also see me holistically as a person with the complexities of being human.
I am looking for a wise, professional, and trusted partner in my healing journey.
Here is what I can promise you:
I will provide you with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to clarify past and current diagnoses.
I will provide you with my professional recommendation about whether psychiatric medications would be helpful for you or not.
If medications are part of my recommendation, and you are interested in trying them, I will guide you every step of the way and answer all the questions you have about the big decision to medicate or not. I am a conservative prescriber who starts low, goes slow, and am not interested in putting you on a hamster wheel of medication trials.
In addition to medications, I will provide you with recommendations for therapy and other holistic healing modalities and coordinate care with your other providers.
We will be partners in your healing journey. I respect your autonomy as an individual to make choices that are in alignment with yourself. I will never force treatment on you, or not listen to what you are telling me.
I am committed to you healing and feeling better. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than knowing I have supported others on their journey.
